On 11 January 1991, the first Mexico-Central America Summit closed in Tuscany, Mexico’s southern city of Tuscany. At the end of the meeting, six leaders of Mexico, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras adopted the Tuscany Declaration and two documents on Mexico’s enhanced cooperation with the five Central American countries.
