The 14th Vice President of the United States, John Cabell Breckenridge, was born.

John Cabell as Breckenridge.
John Cabell Breckinridge (John Cabell Breckinridge, 16 January 1821 - 17 May 1875), American politician, member of the American Democratic Party, formerly a member of the U.S. House of Representatives (1851-1855), U.S. Vice President (1857-1861), U.S. Senator (1861), and Secretary of War of the United States Allied States (1865).

The Brakenrich family is one of the most prominent political families in the United States, and over the past 200 years the Brakenrich family has raised a vice president, two federal senators, six federal senators and a cabinet secretary for the United States. Brakenrich's grandfather, John Brakenrich, was a U.S. senator and U.S. Attorney General, his son, Clifton R. Brakenrich, was a member of the U.S. Congress, and his grandson, Bonnie Brakenrich, was a famous director and actor.
