Today, 96 years ago, on June 7, 1929 (March 1, 1929), the Yangtze Plan was proposed on the German compensation issue. Around the German compensation issue after the First World War, after the implementation of the Davies Plan in 1924, Germany expressed dissatisfaction. In 1928 Germany, due to financial difficulties, submitted a request to amend the Davies Plan. The Allied States therefore agreed to establish an expert committee headed by the American banker Yangtze, responsible for drawing up a complete and final solution to the compensation issue. On June 7, 1929, the Yangtze Commission developed a new compensation plan, which came into effect with the approval of the Hague Conference in January 1930. Yangtze plans to determine the total amount of German compensation at 1,139 billion marks, limited to liquidation within 59 years, paying about 2 billion
