Pewen (19 January 1904 ¨C 18 September 1982)

He was born in Hubei, Funan County, China in 1904. Graduated from the Department of Geology at the University of Beijing in 1927.Doctor of Science at the University of Paris in 1937.After the founding of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, he worked as a researcher at the Institute of Ancient Spinal Animals and Ancient Humanities.Member of the Geological Faculty of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Honorary Member of the British Royal Society of Humans, Member of the Third to Sixth Central Standing Committee of the Nuclear Society, and Member of the Second to Fifth National Political Council.

The founder of ancient stone archaeology and fourth-century mammal zoology, one of the founders of ancient Chinese anthropology, the "Beijing people" first discovered a complete skull fossil. In 1929, the first skull of Chinese monkeys was discovered in Zhuangshan, the discovery has a very important value for the study of ancient world anthropology, and is one of the founders of ancient stone archaeology and fourth-century geology and mammal research in China.
