The American War of Independence officially ended.

The American War of Independence is also known as the North American War of Independence.

In the second half of the 18th century, Britain established 13 colonies on the Atlantic coast. Each colony was ruled by a governor sent by Britain. At this time, the colony had developed a large number of plantations, established a variety of industries such as textile, iron and mining, and the economy was relatively prosperous. Early in the morning of April 19, 1775, the Boston people fired the first shot of the War of Independence over Lexington, and the gunshot of Lexington drew the prelude to the American War of Independence.

The gunfire of Lexington shook the 13 colonies on the Atlantic coast. The American War of Independence has since begun in order to unite against Britain, and the Second Continental Conference of North America decided on June 14th to establish the combined armed forces of the colonies, the Continental Army, to be appointed. Washington isOn October 13, 1776, the Continental Conference passed the Declaration of Independence, proclaiming the birth of the United States of America. At the beginning of the war, the forces of the two sides differed. Britain was the world's most powerful colonial nation, with the world's first-class naval force, about 30,000 British troops in North America, well-equipped and well-trained; the North American colonial population was only 3 million, weak, equipped behind, lack of training. However, the justice and progress of the war determined the course and end of the war. This war can be divided into the first two phases.

From 1775 to 1778, the first phase of the war, the main battlefield was in the north, with the British dominating.

In the second phase of the war between 1779 and 1781, the main battlefield shifted to the south, and the American army was weakly defeated. In January and March 1781, British troops were defeated at Copenhagen and Gilford, and on October 19, Washington led the US-French coalition of more than 16,000 men to siege Yorktown, destroying the British main force of more than seven thousand, and achieving a decisive victory in this war. This victory led to the fall of the British Cabinet. On November 30, 1782, the new British government reached a ceasefire agreement with the United States. On September 3, the two sides signed a peace treaty in Paris, and Britain was forced to recognize American independence.

The American War of Independence was a typical case of small victories and weak victories. This victory paved the way for the development of American capitalism and had a greater impact on the subsequent French Revolution and the national liberation movement in Latin America.
