In April 1526, Babur led 25,000 (or twenty-thousand) people to invade Delhi, winning the first Panipath battle. On April 27 at a ceremony at the Grand Mosque in Delhi, Babur was proclaimed emperor of Hindustan, ending the rule of the Delhi Sultan state in India.

In March 1527, Babur, using cavalry coordinated artillery and two-wing tactics, defeated the 80,000 coalition of the 120 princes of Rahaput, including 500 warheads, in the battle of Canno, and consolidated the rule of the Morpheus dynasty.
