On April 13, 2005, the 59th session of the United Nations General Assembly unanimously adopted the International Convention on the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism, defining acts of nuclear terrorism and calling on governments to immediately adopt legislative measures to combat acts of nuclear terrorism. This is the 13th international anti-terrorism convention developed and ratified by the United Nations.
