Albert was elected the first president of the German Republic.

Albert (1871-1925), right-wing leader of the German Socialist Party, was the first president of the Weimar Republic.

In 1871 a sewing family was born in Heidelberg. In 1891 he joined the German Social Democratic Party. In 1912 he was elected to the Empire Parliament. In November 1918, when he was Prime Minister of the Empire, the November Revolution broke out in Germany.

On 9 November, Carl Liebknecht and the Luxembourg-led Spartacus group evicted Emperor William II in the Berlin uprising. Albert took power and suppressed the workers' movement.

On January 5, 1919, at the call of the German Communist Party, half a million workers in Berlin marched, and on January 6, a general strike began, and the “January Revolution” broke out.

On January 11, the counter-revolution repressed the working-class masses and killed the Communist Party leader Karl Lipkner and Luxembourg.

On February 6, the National Assembly held in Weimar, Albert was elected the first president of the German Republic on February 11.
