British astronomer Adams has died.

by Adams(1819-1892), British astronomer, one of the discoverers of Neptune.

He was twice elected president of the Royal Astronomical Society of Great Britain; he was very knowledgeable in astro-mechanics, and had independently calculated the location of Neptune at the time, which was not yet discovered by the French astronomer Lewey; he also studied the phenomenon of long-term acceleration of moon movement; Adams's research also involved the fields of long-term acceleration of moon movement, geomagnetic fields, orbits of the Lion meteor and rain, predicting the cycle of meteor rain in Lion. He was awarded a gold medal from the Royal Astronomical Society of Great Britain.
