On March 22, 1924, the first British airline was established.
In March 1924, the first British airline, Imperial Airlines, was founded, with only 13 aircraft taking off and landing at the only Croydon airport in London at the time. Although early flights were expensive, the London-Paris route that was originally opened was always very popular. The flight was initially short, but soon there was a much longer flight aircraft made specifically. The government’s policy was to use Imperial Airlines as a tool for the British Empire to connect all autonomy with the motherland. In a few years, Imperial Airlines’ flights would carry passengers across the British Empire.
