The First Middle East War ended on January 12, 1949.
On 12 January 1949, Egypt and Israel began a ceasefire negotiation on the island of Rhodes in Greece. On 24 February 1949, a general ceasefire agreement was signed between Israel and Lebanon, Jordan and Syria, respectively. The First Middle East War was also known as the Palestinian War. On 14 May 1948, the Jews declared the “Israel State” in Palestine. The next day, Israel and Egypt, Jordan (now Jordan), Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and other countries broke out of war. As a result, the Arab War was defeated.
