Peter the Third Feodorovich Peter III Fjodorovich (originally called Karl Peter Ulrich, 1728–1762; 1761–1762), was the son of the Russian Emperor, Karl Fjodorovich and Anna Petrovna of Holstein Gottholm, the grandson of Peter the Great. Peter III was originally a German and hardly spoke Russian. Peter III, who was unmarried and unmarried to Queen Elizabeth Petrovna, was chosen to be the heir to the Russian throne in 1744. Peter III's seizure was the beginning of the Holstein-Goddop-Romanov dynasty. Because of his worship of the Great Three, he was even more admired. On June 28, 1762, Peter the Third was destroyed by his wife Ekaterina (Ekaterina II) in a court coup. At the end of October, the abolished Tsar Peter the Third was poisoned (also called extortion) and Ekaterina declared to be unhealthy and died.
