Musio Clementi (January 23, 1752 ¨C March 10, 1832), Italian composer, pianist, conductor, developer of piano instruments, piano maker, music publisher, piano teacher.

Clementi played the organ at the age of 9, went to England for further study at the age of 14, and then toured all over Europe. In the piano competition with Mozart in Vienna in 1781, clementi took the lead with excellent skills, and Mozart was known for his beautiful taste. As a result, the two sides were evenly divided. Settled in London since 1782. In 1790, he opened a company, mainly engaged in music publishing and piano manufacturing. In 1810, he stopped performing and concentrated on business and composition. Retired in 1830.

Clementi was the first composer to create a true piano sonata. The style of his works is elegant and refined, the performance skills are superb, and the music is full of vitality. His 100 piano etudes "The Way of a Famous Hand" are widely used teaching materials, and a large number of piano sonatas and sonatina are also quite famous.

Clementy has made an important contribution to improving the shape of modern piano. He is also Beethoven's best friend and publisher of his work in the UK. Clementy has alsoined a good friendship with Joseph Hayton throughout his life.
