Seventy-five years ago today, on March 29th, 1950 (February 12th, 1950 in the lunar calendar), American Radio Company made a three-color TV picture tube. On March 29th, 1950, Radio Corporation of America successfully demonstrated an all-electronic color TV picture tube. David Sarnoff, chairman of the company, announced that "we have set foot on the threshold of a new era of television-the era of color television". Radio Corporation of America actually exhibited two color picture tubes. One uses a single electron gun and the other uses three electron guns to produce color images. The specifications of these two picture tubes are the same as those of current black-and-white TV sets. Radio Corporation of America is competing with CBS, which uses mechanical scanning disks to produce color images. The advantage of Radio Corporation of America's picture tube is that it is consistent with existing black-and-white television transmission equipment, so viewers can use their home television sets. Columbia's television system is not the case. News raw data sources → https://www.abtool.cn/today_detail/1bup.html 17WorldNews[2025.09.28-07:44] 访问:82
