February 19, 1985 South African Negroes refuse to emigrate police officers.
Today, 40 years ago, on February 19, 1985, (December 30, 1984) black South Africans refused to relocate police officers for a new conflict. On February 19, 1985, South Africa again suffered violence. In this riot near Cape Town, at least eight people were killed in police clashes and hundreds injured. The police battle began because the government planned to relocate 100,000 black people to a newly established black town in Kayelisa Shouchou, and the unpopular Kayelisa Shouchou had long been listed as uninhabited by the government. According to the South African Church statistics, over the past two decades 3.5 million black people had been forced to leave their homes because of government orders.
