Today, 36 years ago, on May 4, 1989 (March 29, 1989), the United States officially ruled that the core character of the ¡°Iran Gate¡± incident was Noth¡¯s criminal offence. On May 4, 1989, after a 12-day trial, the Grand Jury of the Washington Federal District Court ruled that Noth had been convicted of a maximum ten years in prison and a fine of $75,000. Noth was convicted by a 12-member jury of the following crimes: one, preventing Congress from investigating the White House from secretly selling weapons to Iran and transferring revenues to aid Nicaragua¡¯s anti-government armed events; two, privately selling documents from the National Security Committee; three, accepting $1.38,000 from illegal counterparts for the construction of land defenses for their own.
