Today, 36 years ago, on May 4, 1989 (March 29, 1989), the United States officially ruled that the core character of the “Iran Gate” incident was Noth’s criminal offence. On May 4, 1989, after a 12-day trial, the Grand Jury of the Washington Federal District Court ruled that Noth had been convicted of a maximum ten years in prison and a fine of $75,000. Noth was convicted by a 12-member jury of the following crimes: one, preventing Congress from investigating the White House from secretly selling weapons to Iran and transferring revenues to aid Nicaragua’s anti-government armed events; two, privately selling documents from the National Security Committee; three, accepting $1.38,000 from illegal counterparts for the construction of land defenses for their own.
