On March 9, 1998, in London, England, Danny Rosenkranz, president of British Oxygen Group Corporation (BOC), was inspecting their first batch of "jet injectors". This is a new type of syringe that doesn't use a needle, but is pressurized with helium, allowing vaccine particles to pass directly through the skin and enter the body.
