He Yujie, whose courtesy name is Yinju (1882 ~ 1939), was born in Cixi, Zhejiang. In 1902, he entered the Jingshi University Hall to study. In 1904, he was sent to study in England. After receiving his master's degree, he returned to China. After 1909, he served as a teacher at the Jingshi University Hall, a professor Peking University, the president of Beijing National Industrial College, a lecturer at Beijing Normal University, the head of the Department of Physics of Northeastern University, a member of the Physical Terminology Review Committee of the Chinese Physical Society, and the editorial board of Journal of Physics. In 1914, the physics textbook he edited in Peking University was the first batch of self-edited physics textbooks for universities in China. He taught courses in Peking University such as mathematics, physics, thermodynamics and gas kinematics. Electricity, original quantity theory (i.e. nose theory), etc. are the first courses in China. Because of his contribution to pioneering Chinese physics, the Chinese Science Society set up the "He Yujie Physics Memorial Prize" in 1940, which was the first prize set up for physics in China. He Yujie mainly discusses and translates "Einstein and Relativity", "The Relationship between X-rays and the Internal Structure of Atoms", "Matter and Quantum", "The Institution of Nature", etc.
