92 years ago today, on March 20th, 1933 (February 25th, 1933 in the lunar calendar), the Nazis established the first concentration camp. On March 20, 1933, the first concentrated old powder factory was built near Dachau, ten miles outside Munich. There are three concentration camps near Berlin to be opened. It is believed that most of the people sent to these concentration camps are Communists, but not just Communists. Nazi forces were also arresting members of the Social Democratic Party and a Social Democratic military establishment group. As the Nazi authorities in Germany arrested too many political prisoners, the prisons were overflowing. In one month alone, 15,000 people were arrested in Prussia. The prison couldn't accommodate so many people, and Himmler, the police chief of Munich, came up with a solution. This method is the so-called concentration camp.
