January 27, 1859 Birthday of the last German Emperor Wilhelm II
166 years ago today, January 27th, 1859 (December 24th, 1858 in the lunar calendar), the birthday of William II, the last emperor of Germany. (The most active advocate of the "Yellow Peril", Kaiser Wilhelm II) Wilhelm II, full name Friedrich Wilhelm Victor Albert von Hohenzollern (January 27, 1859-June 4, 1941), eldest son of Frederick III and Empress Victoria. Last Emperor of the Second German Reich and King of Prussia, reigned from 1888 to 1918. After the death of William I on March 9, 1888, his father was crowned Emperor Frederick III, but soon died of throat cancer. William II succeeded him as emperor in June of the same year. On November 9, 1918, the Prime Minister, Prince Maximilian of Baden, suddenly announced the abolition of the above two titles of William, so he had to abdicate. Wilhelm died of illness in Doorn, the Netherlands, on June 5, 1941, and was buried at HuisDoorn, where Hitler held a small military funeral for him. He hoped that the symbol of the Nazi Party would not be displayed at the funeral, but the Nazi Party ignored it.
