British Navy Navigator Matthew Flinders Born

Matthew Flinders (Matthew Flinders, March 16, 1774 - July 19, 1814) was one of the most successful of many navigators and mapmakers before the early 19th century; in his professional career of a little more than 20 years, he and another captain William Blake (famous film re-shoot Captain Revenge Story) sailed around Australia, and with him was encouraged for many newly discovered areas of Australia names, also suffered ship difficulty to be saved, the only disaster was to imprison him in the name of espionage, on a wooden ship with a rover navigation to the shore, it was the first broadcaster of "Explore Australia Unknown", with his steel will to overcome, verify and rectify data and has been registered in the "Map of Australia Navigation".

Australian coastline exploration

In 1801, the British navy ordered him to explore the "Great Australian Bay" and many places in the bay; In July of that year, he led an expedition from England and arrived at Cape Lewen, Australia, on December 6, nearly the end of the year. He continued westward to Fowlers Bay on January 28, 1802.

During the ship's east journey on April 8, 1802, he met the French explorer Nicolas Butin, on his western journey on the ship Le Géographe, they were commanded by their own country to explore the unknown southern coastline of Australia, the two also studied many valuable discoveries on the academic exchange of details, and finally the two expedition teams went to Sydney to supplement the materials, Forlindas later also named the place where they first encountered the Meridian Bay (not the Japanese Meridian Bay).

The meeting between the two explorers in "Encounter Bay" this time marks that the colonial countries of the European continent have mapped all the Australian coastline, which is of great significance.

In June 1803, the Investigator was repaired due to severe damage to the shell, forcing Forlindous to abandon the exploration of the northern coastline of Australia, and he returned along the west coast to Sydney, officially ending his first flight around Australia.

Forlindas shifted to the British with ten cannons, the Little Whale warships wanted to continue to complete the North Australian exploration, but the Great Barrier Reef naval crash was not achieved, when he did a promising thing: he himself risked with a few sailors driving a small windshield crossing the unknown sea of less than 700 ounces to Sydney, planning to recall the ship to Wreck Reef to save his black crew.

Forlindous then attempted to return to Britain on the Cumberland but was forced to stop at the Mauritius repair on 17 December 1803, Forlindous did not know that Britain was at this time fighting again with France, the French Governor of Mauritius General De Caen had arrested him with "war prisoners", Forlindous wrote to Sir Joseph Banks to ask for help, Joseph Banks informed the French authorities that the academic status of Forlindous was allowed by France to release Forlindous, but the Justice General De Caen was protesting against the refusal to release (forlindous ship to Mauritius was thought to be a detective of the French military), which led to misunderstandings and war delayed him to be released in France six and a half years to 1810.

Flinders finally returned to England in October 1810, but his health was not as good as before after six and a half years of unjust imprisonment. He died the next day after he printed the results of his exploration in Australia as A Voyage to Terra Australis, which was published on July 18, 1814. At the age of 40.

Recommended reason: The earliest British naval navigator to circle Australia.
