Ibsen, born on March 20, 1828 in the southern Norwegian town of Heyn. He often read famous books on his spare time, then wrote poetry himself, and gradually increased his interest in literary creation. He actively wrote for several publications and also participated in the workers' movement. Therefore, his early works often reflect his rebellious spirit through images. His first historical drama was Katharina (1850). Later he was hired as a host theatre writer and editor, creating a new script each year; such as The Night of Summer (1853); The Tomb of the Warriors (1854); Mrs. Inge of Estro (1855) etc. During this period he participated in the scripting of about 150 episodes.

After 1857, when the Capital Theatre went bankrupt, he still created, but his living conditions were getting worse and worse. Without financial resources, he had to borrow money to survive. During this period, plays such as Helgeland's Pirates (1858), The Comedy of Love (1862) and The Pretender to the Throne (1863) were written. Because of his high debt, his life was extremely embarrassing, and some plays were attacked by conservative forces, he left his country for 27 years. Abroad, he mainly wrote poetic plays Brand (1866), Pierre Inter (1867), The Emperor and the Galileans (1873); Wrote famous plays on social issues, Pillars of Society (1877), Doll's House (1879), Ghosts (1881), and Enemies of the People (1882). His thoughts of "spiritual rebellion" are getting heavier and heavier. Not many works were written in his later years, except "The Architect" (1892) and "When We Die and Awaken" (1899). Died of illness on May 23, 1906.
