On this day, 30 years ago, on February 1, 1995 (January 2, 1995 in the lunar calendar), the Advertising Law of the People's Republic of China officially came into effect. The development of advertising after the founding of New China has gone through three stages, namely,"recovery-stagnation-development." (1) Advertising recovery stage This stage refers to the establishment of New China to the early 1960s. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the party and government first carried out socialist transformation of the old advertising industry to adapt it to the needs of economic recovery and development. From the perspective of media, 253 newspapers such as Beijing Daily, Liberation Daily, Wen Wei Po, and Dazhong Daily have been founded and resumed since the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China, and have successively published advertisements. 83 radio stations including Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, and Tianjin launched advertising programs shortly after the founding of the People's Republic of China. In 1957, the Ministry of Commerce sent observers to Prague to attend the International Advertisers Conference attended by 13 countries. This is the first business contact between the government and the foreign advertising industry after the founding of New China. In 1958, the Ministry of Commerce organized an international advertising conference in Beijing, introduced the development status of the foreign advertising industry, and discussed the development of my country's advertising industry. The most outstanding achievement of this meeting was to summarize the characteristics of our country's socialist advertising, namely "policy nature, ideological nature, authenticity, and artistic nature." (2) Advertising stagnation stage Since the mid-1960s, due to the influence of the "left" line, my country's contact with the international advertising industry was almost cut off. During the ten years of turmoil during the Cultural Revolution, the advertising industry suffered unprecedented damage. In the media, advertising was banned and advertising space was removed in newspapers. (3) Advertising development period The real development period of advertising theory and advertising activities in China began after the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. On January 28, 1979, Shanghai TV broadcast an advertisement for Shengui tonic wine by Shanghai Medicinal Materials Company. This was the first TV advertisement in China after setting things right. On February 10 of the same year, with the development of the advertising industry, the quality requirements for advertisers have become an urgent issue. Over the past ten years, in terms of cultivating advertising talents, various forms, tutoring classes, and training classes of different periods have been held across the country based on local realities. China Advertising Association Certificate Class. At present, more than 70 colleges and universities across the country have offered advertising courses. Universities such as Xiamen University, Beijing Broadcasting Academy, Shenzhen University and Northwest University have all opened advertising majors. Theoretical research on advertising continues to deepen. In addition to the increasing number of advertising publications, our country's advertising writings have also shifted from general discussions to deeper and more systematic discussion series. Work with the state to strengthen the legal system for advertising. In February 1982, the State Council officially issued the "Interim Regulations on Advertising Management". In the same year, the State Administration for Industry and Commerce issued the "Implementation Rules of the Interim Regulations on Advertising Management." In October 1987, the State Council officially promulgated the "Regulations on Advertising Management" based on summarizing experience. In January 1988, the State Administration for Industry and Commerce issued the "Implementation Rules". The Advertising Law of the People's Republic of China was officially implemented on February 1, 1995. Gradually integrate with international advertising. In addition to work on advertising legislation and management, the ties and cooperation between my country's advertising industry and the international advertising industry are becoming increasingly close. In June 1996, my country's advertising industry organized a group to participate in the Shana Advertising Festival, known as the Olympic Games for the advertising industry for the first time. International advertising can no longer be regarded as a worldwide advertising activity without the participation of China's advertising industry.
