100 years ago today, on March 1, 1925 (February 7, 1925 in the lunar calendar), the leader of the Communist Party of China Gao Junyu passed away. On March 1, 1925, Gao Junyu, the leader of the Communist Party of China, suddenly fell ill. Gao Junyu, named Shangde, also known as Xisan, was born in Jingle County, Shanxi Province. He was admitted to Peking University in 1916 and accepted new ideas. In May 1919, he participated in and led the "May Fourth" patriotic movement and served as a representative of the Peking University Student Federation in Beijing. In March 1920, under the guidance of Li Dazhao, Deng Zhongxia, Huang Rikui and others secretly established the Peking University Marxist Theory Research Society. In October, he joined the Beijing Communist Group and founded Changxindian Labor Tutoring School. In November, he participated in the establishment of the Beijing Socialist Youth League and was elected secretary. After the formal establishment of the Communist Party of China, it became the Communist Party of China. In January 1922, he participated in the First Congress of Communist Parties and National Revolutionary Groups of Far Eastern Countries held by the Communist International in Moscow. In July, he participated in the Second Congress of the Communist Party of China and was elected as a member of the Central Committee. In June 1923, he participated in the Third Congress of the Communist Party of China and served as a member of the Education and Publicity Committee of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. In October last year, he participated in and led the battle to quell the Guangzhou Commercial Group's rebellion. In December, he accompanied Sun Yat-sen to the north and assisted Sun Yat-sen, Li Dazhao and others in preparing for the National Conference promotion meeting. On March 1, 1925, he served as a representative of the National Assembly Promotion Committee and attended the meeting with serious illness. During the meeting, an acute illness broke out and died of ineffective treatment.
