German physicist Ohm was born

George Simon Ohm (1787 - 1854) was a German physicist. Born on March 16, 1787 in Erlangen, Germany.

Ohm's main contribution to physics was the discovery of Ohm's Law. In 1827, he published his most famous book,"Mathematical Essay of Galvanic Circuits", which listed formulas, clearly stating that the magnitude of current in a Galvanic circuit is proportional to the total voltage and inversely proportional to the total resistance of the circuit. Where S is the intensity of current in the conductor (I), A is the voltage across the conductor (U), and L is the resistance of the conductor (R). It can be seen that this is the formula of Ohm's Law for some circuits today.

In addition, ohm also discovered the relationship between resistance and the length and cross-section of the wire.

In 1833 he was hired as professor of physics at the Nuremberg Polytechnic School. In 1841, the Royal Society of London awarded him the Medal. In 1849 he became professor of physics at the University of Munich. In his later years, he also wrote textbooks on optics. On July 6, 1854, Ohm passed away in Manahy, Germany.
