January 26, 1882 was Shao Lizi's birthday. Shao Lizi (1882-1967) was born in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province. His original name was Wentai, and the word was Zhonghui. In his early years, he studied in Japan and joined the Alliance. In 1920, he joined the Communist Group in Shanghai. He served as the chief writer of Shanghai's "Republic of China Daily" and editor-in-chief of the supplement to "Consciousness", acting president of Shanghai University, and initiated the organization of the New South Society with Liu Yazi. In 1925, he served as Secretary-General of the Whampoa Military Academy and participated in the reorganization of the Kuomintang. In 1926, on instructions from the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, he withdrew from the Communist Party in order to facilitate the united front work within the Kuomintang. He has served successively as Secretary-General of the General Command of the National Revolutionary Army, Principal of China Public School, Chairman of the Shaanxi Province Government, Minister of the Propaganda Department of the Kuomintang Central Committee, Ambassador to the Soviet Union, and Secretary-General of the National Political Council.

In 1949, he was a member of the Kuomintang government's peace negotiation delegation. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he served as member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and member of the Central Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Kuomintang of China.
