On this day, 89 years ago, on March 25, 1936 (March 3, 1936, the lunar calendar), Yan Xishan established the "Comrades Association for Self-improvement and National Salvation" in Shanxi. In the spring of 1936, the "Self-improvement and National Salvation Comrades Association" was established in Taiyuan, with Yan Xishan as chairman. It has five committees: youth, workers, people, businessmen, and women. Yan proposed to implement "property securities" and "distribution according to work" in Shanxi, mobilize the province's human, material and financial resources to strive for self-improvement and catch up with a modern country; organize the people of the province to conduct armed training in the spirit of "sacrifice to save the country" and prepare for the war of resistance.
