26 February 1997 New Israeli Jewish settlements
Twenty-eight years ago today, on February 26th, 1997 (January 20th, 1997 in the lunar calendar), Israel built a new Jewish settlement. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expounds the plan to build Jewish settlements in East Jerusalem On February 26, 1997, the Israeli cabinet approved the plan to build Jewish settlements in the Har Homa area of East Jerusalem, which was strongly opposed by Palestine and the international community.
