On this day, 79 years ago, on March 27, 1946 (February 24, 1946 in the lunar calendar), the Kuomintang and the Communist Party reached an Armistice Agreement in Northeast China. On March 27, 1946, the three-person military team of Zhou Enlai, Zhang Zhizhong, and Guillen signed the "Agreement on Mediation of the Armistice in Northeast China." When the armistice order was issued on January 10, 1946, representatives of the National Government insisted that Northeast China was not within the scope of the armistice. After the CPPCC meeting, the National Government, with the help of U.S. Special Envoy Marshall and the U.S. Navy, transported a large number of troops to Northeast China to expand the Northeast cabinet. This time, through the efforts of the Communist Party of China and the people of the country, the National Government reluctantly agreed to the ceasefire in Northeast China.
