113 years ago today, on March 7, 1912 (January 19, 1912 in the lunar calendar), Baoding Army Officer Academy was established. On March 7, 1912, Baoding Army Officer Academy was formally established. The school is under the jurisdiction of the Military Science Department of the War Department. It has five specialties: infantry, artillery, cavalry, engineering, and trench, with a two-year academic system. Most of the students are recommended by four army middle schools (Qinghe No. 1 Army Middle School, Xi'an No. 2 Army Middle School, Wuchang No. 3 Army Middle School, and Nanjing No. 4 Army Middle School). After graduation, they are uniformly assigned to each army as trainee sergeant platoon leader, and after half a year, they will serve as second lieutenant or lieutenant platoon leader. Most of the teachers are graduates of non-commissioned officer schools studying in Japan. Closed in 1920.
