Chiang Kai-shek's wife Soong Meiling was born

Song Meiling (March 5, 1897-October 24, 2003) was originally born in Wenchang County, Hainan. She was the former First Lady of the Republic of China and the Chairman of the Presidium of the Central Review Committee of the Kuomintang Party of China; the sister of Song Ailing and Soong Ching Ling. As Chiang Kai-shek's second wife (in addition to Yuan Pei, Chiang also had a concubine and a lover), Soong Meiling had far-reaching influence in modern China's history and foreign relations (especially on the United States).

His father was Song Jiashu, a Shanghai missionary and wealthy businessman, and his mother Ni Guizhen. She came to the United States at the age of 8 and graduated from Weasley Women's College in the United States.

He first met Chiang Kai-shek in 1920 and was enthusiastically pursued by Chiang Kai-shek. Soong Meiling asked Chiang Kai-shek to first break off the engagement with all his wives and concubines before agreeing to his pursuit. As a result, the two held a wedding ceremony at the Dahua Hotel in Shanghai on December 1, 1927. This marriage was once called "(Chiang) China (Zheng)(Song)-American (Ling) Cooperation." During the Xi'an Incident, she negotiated with Zhang Xueliang and Yang Hucheng, which resulted in the release of Chiang Kai-shek from house arrest. Later, she assisted Chiang's political activities. She was responsible for the establishment of China Air Force at that time. During the Japanese War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, she went to the United States to raise funds and became the first China to deliver a speech in the U.S. Congress, persuading the United States to shift its attention from the European battlefield to Japan's aggression against China, winning the sympathy of the United States for China. During the war, her photos of sewing military uniforms for the national army successfully aroused the patriotism of many China people. In 1943, Soong Meiling was selected as the cover person and Person of the Year by Time Magazine in the United States.

He lived in New York for a long time after 1994 and died in New York in 2003 at the age of 106. He was the oldest among the leaders and wives of the countries participating in the Second World War.
