Portrait of Emperor Kamiko In 1335, Shinsu Ashikaga rebelled against Emperor Taigo in Kamakura. The following year, he defeated the court army in the Battle of Mingawa and captured Kyoto. Later, Emperor Taigo fled to the Enryaku Temple in Hieri Mountain with the three divine weapons to confront Shinsu Ashikaga. On August 15, according to the court proclamation of Emperor Guangyan, Tokuji Ashikaga announced the deposing of Later Emperor Daigo and honored him as Emperor Guangyan, and supported Toyoto on the throne. This was for Emperor Kwong and the establishment of the Northern Dynasty court. Emperor Taigo fled to Yoshino on December 21 to establish the Southern Dynasty court. Japanese history entered the Northern and Southern Dynasties era of "two emperors in one day and southern Beijing." When Emperor Kwong ascended the throne, he did not possess the three divine weapons, but only ascended the throne according to Emperor Guangyan's court proclamation. The Northern Dynasty court made this decision based on the precedent of Emperor Toriha claiming the throne in accordance with the post-Baihe Dharma Imperial Court at the end of the Heian Era without the three divine weapons. After Emperor Kigami ascended the throne, his brother Emperor Guangyan established the court. At the same time, Tokuji Ashikaga established the Muromachi shogunate in Kyoto, and the Muromachi era began. On October 27 of the lunar calendar in 1348, Emperor Kigami gave way to Emperor Sogang, the first prince of Emperor Guangyan. Emperor Sogang respected him as the highest emperor. In 1351, the Muromachi shogunate broke out in Guanying, and Ashikaga Naoshi defected to the Southern Dynasties and defeated the North Korean Army. Under this pressure, Ashikaga Tokuji decided to reach a settlement with Ashikaga Naoyi, and abolished the Northern Dynasty court's surrender to the Southern Dynasties. History called Zhengping unification. The Emperor of Light was also imprisoned together with some other members of the Northern Dynasty royal family. The next year, Emperor Murakami sent Masayi Nanki to defeat Yoshiki Ashikaga and occupy Kyoto. The imprisoned Emperor Kigami, together with Emperor Kigami, Emperor Sogyo, and Crown Prince Naohito, fell into the hands of the Southern Army and were escorted to the Emperor Murakami. He was imprisoned in the palace of Hameo (now Gojo City, Nara Prefecture). After this incident, Ashikaga Yoshimoto decided to restore the Northern Dynasty court and issued a court proclamation in the name of Nishionji Ninako (Guangyimen), the mother of Emperor Kwangi, that Prince Yairen, the third prince of Emperor Guangyan, was appointed to the throne for the Later Emperor Guangyan. Ningzi of Xiyuan Temple was respected as the ruler of heaven and managed the government. In 1355, the Emperor of Light returned to Kyoto, and since then he shed his hair and became a monk. He died on June 24, 1380. Not long after the rebellion of the Central and Western Dynasties was suppressed, in November of the second year of Jianwu (1335), Shinshi Ashikaga raised the flag of rebellion in Kamakura and officially became the enemy of Taigo. As one of his plans to confront the court, Ashikaga Tokuen established contact with the royal family of the Kimyoin Unification Department through Kenoshi Sanbuyuan, who was born in the Hino family. In February of the third year of Jianwu, Zunshi accepted the announcement of Guangyan Yuan, and Ashikaga and Chiming Yuan Tong established a mutually supportive relationship. On March 2, the third year of Jianwu, the Ashikaga Army won the Battle of Duorangbang in Chuqian State. Since then, the situation gradually favored Zunshi. Zunshi, who occupied Kyushu, led his army all the way eastward. On May 25 of the same year, after Zunshi was defeated in Cochawa, the state of Shejin, the general general of Daoguo, Nanmu Zhengcheng, was formed into the army. In June, Zunshi Fengguang Yanyuan and Prince Fengren entered Kyoto. On August 15, Ashikaga Tokuji petitioned the Guangyan Temple to be replaced by Prince Toyohito, and the Emperor Kuroi appeared. At the same time, Guangyan Court was honored as the Emperor to exercise court governance. The ascension of Emperor Kigami was the result of Ashikaga's plan to realize his political and military ideals. According to the "On Meisong" written from the standpoint of Ashikaga, on his way to the west in February of the third year of Jianwu, Akamatsu Yuanquan (Zemura) secretly discussed with the emperor: "Since several battles, the imperial flag of the official army (later Daigu Army) has been fluttering, and the imperial army (Ashikaga Army) has borne the title of facing the enemy. It is difficult to maintain. Now, as the orthodox ruler of the emperor, Chiming Temple has lived in seclusion in the countryside since the demise of the previous generation (Hojo Takashi period). It would be better for us to go and worship him, and we can establish a righteous reputation for protecting the country and rescuing disasters. "This should be the purpose of Ashikaga's support for Emperor Kiguro.
