On May 14, 2000 (April 11, 2000 in the lunar calendar), former Japanese Prime Minister Keizo Obuchi died of illness. Former Japanese Prime Minister Keizo Obuchi passed away due to illness at Tokyo's Juntendo Hospital at 4:07 pm on May 14, 2000. He was 62 years old. On April 2, Keizo Obuchi was hospitalized urgently due to cerebral thrombosis. Subsequently, Obuchi's condition deteriorated and remained in a coma, and Obuchi's cabinet had to announce its general resignation on April 4.
