118 years ago today, February 19, 1907 (January 7, 1907 in the lunar calendar), the Revolutionary Party's plan to uprising in Huanggang was aborted. In February 1907 (the 33rd year of the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty), the Revolutionary Party's plan for the Huanggang Uprising was aborted. Huanggang is a large town in Raoping County, Chaozhou Prefecture, Guangdong Province. The triad power is very strong, and the important leader is Xu Xueqiu (1875-1912). Xu Xueqiu's original name was Youruo. A native of Haiyang (Chao'an), Guangdong Province, he is the son of a wealthy overseas Chinese businessman in Singapore. He likes fencing and boxing, and has extensive connections with the participating parties and is known as "Xiao Mengchang". In 1906, he met Sun Yat-sen and joined the Alliance. Sun Yat-sen appointed Xu as the commander of the Eastern Army of the Chinese National Army. Xu used Shantou as a base to participate in the Games and presided over the military affairs of Lingdong. He then returned to Guangdong to prepare for the armed uprising. When Ping, Liu and Li things started, Xu Xueqiu was eager to try. Sun Yat-sen sent Liao Zhongkai, Fang Ruilin, Fang Cishi, and Japanese Nagasaki Nagasaki and Chi Hengji to help. The uprising was scheduled to be divided and large-scale on February 19. On the day of the incident, Fushan and all the way were unable to gather because they mistook the "Four O'clock Qi Soldiers" for "Ten O'clock", and other roads also failed to mobilize. A few days later, Xue Jinfu, the convener of Fushan Road, and others were killed by Qing officials. Xu Xueqiu immediately went to Hong Kong to ask Sun Yat-sen for instructions through Feng Ziyou. Sun Yat-sen replied: If the incident rises from then on, he must agree with Huizhou, Qin, Lian and other places to carry out the same action, so as to contain the Qing army and not to engage recklessly and cause damage to the vitality. Xu Xueqiu stayed in Hong Kong, waiting for news. Later, Sun Yat-sen sent people to cooperate with Xueqiu and stepped up preparations for the uprising. After the failure of the Shiping Liuli Uprising, the Qing government asked the Japanese government to expel Sun Yat-sen. On March 4, 1907 (the 20th day of the first month of the 33rd year of Guangxu), Sun Yat-sen was forced to leave Japan for Annam (present-day Vietnam). Immediately after arriving in Hanoi, he set up a general office to lead the armed uprising in the southwest at 61 Gampida Street, preparing to organize and lead the uprisings in the three provinces of Guangdong, Guangxi and Yunnan nearby. On May 21 (the tenth day of April), Huang Jinfu sent dozens of soldiers to Huanggang Town and used an excuse to arrest two members of the congregation. The next day, Yu Jicheng and others gathered more than 200 party members to uprising outside Huanggang. After a night of bloody battles, Huanggang was captured. The rebels were strictly disciplined and did not commit any crimes. Therefore, they were deeply supported by the masses. The nearby poor people joined the rebels one after another, and the ranks quickly grew to 5,000 to 6,000 people. However, this uprising came in a hurry, and the specific organizers did not understand the overall plan. After the incident, they sent people to Hong Kong to ask Xu Xueqiu to come and lead the rebels. The rebels will attack the Chaozhou Golden Fuqing Army, and the enemy is in critical condition. Just at this time, reinforcements sent by Li Zhun, the commander of the Guangdong Navy of the Qing Dynasty, arrived, and both sides attacked the rebels, so Chaozhou failed to capture it. On the 27th (16th), despite the disparity in strength between the enemy and the enemy, Chen and Yu decided to disband their troops and move to Hong Kong. The uprising failed.
