On May 7, 1949, Li Bai, the owner of the "Eternal Radio Wave", died
On this day, 76 years ago, on May 7, 1949 (April 10, 1949 in the lunar calendar), Li Bai, the owner of the "Eternal Wave", died. All viewers who have seen the movie "The Radio Wave that Never Fades" are deeply moved by the heroic deeds of the party's outstanding son, Li Xia. In the Museum of the Revolution of China, the real image of Li Xia-photos and relics of Li Bai are displayed. Li Xia, the protagonist in "The Eternal Radio", is the shadow of Li Bai. The story described in the film is a true reproduction of Comrade Li Bai's revolutionary activities. Li Bai was born in Liuyang, Hunan Province. He joined the Communist Party of China in 1925 and studied radio reporting in the Central Soviet Area in 1930. He participated in the Long March in 1934 and served as director and political commissar of the radio station. After the "August 13th" in 1937, he was sent to Shanghai by the party and insisted on working as an underground radio station for a long time in the enemy-occupied area of white terror. He went under the pseudonym Li Xia and Li Jing 'an. At first, he was publicly identified as an accountant of a Fusheng Radio Company in Shanghai, and later served in the Kuomintang's Institute of International Studies and the Fisheries Management Office of the International Relief Administration. He used these public identities as cover to engage in the party's secret underground work, maintained telecommunications links between Shanghai's underground party organizations and Yan 'an, and promptly transmitted many important military and political information to the Party Central Committee through radio. He was arrested three times in 1942, 1945 and 1948. The last arrest was late at night on December 29, 1948. At that time, Li Bai was completing an important piece of intelligence to Yan 'an in a secret room. This was a top-secret Jiang defense plan related to the Kuomintang and was of great importance to our army's liberation of Shanghai. Suddenly, Kuomintang spies broke in and Comrade Li Bai fell into the clutches of the devil. In prison, Comrade Li Bai was severely tortured and remained unyielding. Finally, Chiang Kai-shek personally criticized him: "If you are not strong, you will be sentenced to capital punishment." On May 7, 1949, Li Bai was secretly killed by the Kuomintang at the age of 39. Martyr Li Bai used radio parts and tools for repairing radio stations during his lifetime
