The Stoning Movement, Fronde,(1648 - 1653) was a French civil war that followed the Western European War (1653). The word Fronde means stone in French, after supporters of Cardinal Mazarin were stoned out of windows by Paris mobs. The Stoning Party Rebellion can be roughly divided into two battles, the Frondeof the Parlements and the Frondeof the Enobles. The Peace of Rueiye (French: Paix de Rueil), signed on March 11, 1649, marked the end of the beginning of the Stonefaction movement. After France's civil war, very little blood has been shed. This peace treaty ended all fighting and declared all trade open. This peace treaty was promulgated in the name of King Louis XIV [1] through his mother, the reigning Queen Anne of Austria.
