In 1992, Wang Xuan successfully developed the world's first Chinese color phototypesetting system. He has won many awards such as the Gold Medal of the Geneva International Invention Exhibition, the Gold Medal of China Patent Invention, the UNESCO Science Award, and the National Special Prize for Major Technical Equipment Development. He won the first prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award twice in 1987 and 1995; It was included in the top ten national scientific and technological achievements twice in 1985 and 1995, and is the only project in China that has received national awards four times. He himself was awarded the title of National Expert with Outstanding Contributions, and was awarded the National and Beijing City Model Worker many times. In 1987, he won the highest honorary awards in China's printing industry-the Bi Sheng Award and the Shinzo Mori Award. In 1995, he won the He Liang He Liki Gold Medal, and in 2001, he won the National Science and Technology Award.
