250 years ago today, April 19, 1775 (March 20, 1775 in the lunar calendar), the first shot of the American Revolutionary War. On April 19, 1775, the American War of Independence broke out. In the central area of the town of Lexington in the United States, there stands a statue of a militia holding a rifle. The militiaman looked heroic, his feet firmly stepped on the stone wall, and his eyes stared in front of him warily. There is a very simple stone tablet below. The inscription reads: Stand firm. Don't shoot before the enemy does; but if the enemy insists on imposing war on us, let the war begin here! This was established to commemorate the Battle of Lexington, the first battle of the famous Revolutionary War in American history. At the end of the 15th century, after the discovery of the New Route to America, Spain, France, Britain, the Netherlands and Sweden successively invaded North America. After some competition, Britain became the main colonizer of the North American continent. The cruel plunder of the British colonists aroused resistance from the people of North America. By the early 18th century, with the development of the colonial economy, conflicts intensified. On the night of December 16, 1773, the "Boston Tea Party Incident" broke out among the people of North America in order to oppose the British "Tea Tax Law", which marked that the conflict had intensified to the point where force was unavoidable. In the early morning of April 19, 1775, 800 fully armed British light infantry, led by a major, marched towards Lexington.
