On this day, 75 years ago, on March 16, 1950 (January 28, 1950 in the lunar calendar), a large-scale struggle to suppress bandits was launched across the country. The Guangxi People's Liberation Army and the local people pursued and wiped out fleeing bandits. On March 16, 1950, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Central Military Commission issued the instructions "Eliminate Bandits and Establish a New Revolutionary Order": It must be made clear that the elimination of bandits is an unsurpassed stage in the current national revolutionary struggle. It is a necessary prerequisite for establishing and restoring people's political power at all levels and carrying out everything else. It is a guarantee for the complete elimination of the remnants of the Kuomintang's armed forces on the mainland and the rapid restoration of the new revolutionary order. Since then, a struggle to suppress bandits that lasted for more than three years quickly began across the country. The People's Liberation Army has dispatched 1.5 million troops from more than 140 divisions of 39 armies. From 1950 to 1953, it has annihilated more than 2.4 million bandits and special armed forces. The people cooperate in suppressing bandits
