101 years ago today, on April 12, 1924 (March 9, 1924 in the lunar calendar), Indian poet Tagore visited China. Tagore (sitting left), Indian poets such as Lin Huiyin (left 5) and Xu Zhimo (left 1) and Asia's first Nobel Prize winner, Robinedranath Tagore, visited China and arrived in Shanghai on April 12, 1924. The next day, he delivered a speech at the invitation of various academic groups in Shanghai at No. 32 Mulming Road. He then visited Hangzhou, Nanjing, Jinan, Beijing, Taiyuan, Wuhan and other places and delivered speeches. He left China on April 30 for Japan. Because the main members of the Lecture Society and the Crescent Society praised Tagore as a living god when they came forward to welcome them and used it to advocate Eastern spiritual civilization, they were opposed by many progressives. Therefore, Lu Xun published an article "Curse and Kill and Praise"("Lacy Literature"), criticizing Lin Changmin, Xu Zhimo and others, saying,"If our poets and princes did not turn him into a living immortal, the young people would not be so alienated from him. Now it's the boss's bad luck."
