137 years ago today, March 13, 1888 (February 1, 1888 in the lunar calendar), Soviet writer and educator Anton Semionovich Makarenko was born. Makarenko (1888~1939) was a Soviet educator and writer. Born on March 13, 1988. In 1905, he began his educational career after graduating from the primary school teacher training class. He has served as a primary school teacher and principal since 1905. During 15 years of educational practice, he has accumulated rich experience and laid the foundation for his educational thoughts. After 1920, he successively presided over the Gorky Engineering Corps and the Dzerzhinsky Children's Labor Commune, engaged in the education and reform of street children and juvenile offenders. He proposed the principles and methods of educating children through collective and productive labor and educating in collectives, which enriched his educational theory. In 1935, Makarenko was appointed deputy director of the Engineering Corps Management Bureau of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and People's Commissar of the Ukraine Soviet Socialist Republic. He was also engaged in writing, theoretical writing and academic lectures. Collectivist education is an important aspect of Makarenko's educational ideological system. It is believed that educating students through well-organized and reasonable educational collectives is the main method to cultivate new socialist people. He died on April 1, 1939. The main educational literary and artistic works include "Educational Poetry","Flag on the Tower", and "Must Read for Parents"; the main educational theoretical works include "Organizing Methods of the Educational Process","Lectures on Children's Education", and "Soviet Education Issues in Ordinary Schools". In the 1950s, the Soviet Union published a seven-volume "Collected Works of Makarenko's Education" and an eight-volume "Collected Works of Makarenko's Education" in the 1980s.
