Breaking-News >> TodayHistory French utopian socialist Fourier's birthday
On April 7, 1772, French utopian socialist Fourier was born into a wealthy family in Besancon, eastern France. His father was the owner of a Dani Rong shop. He died in 1781, leaving behind 200,000 li vres, and according to Fourier's will, he received 80,000 li vres. After graduating from high school, he studied business in accordance with his father's will and worked as a shop employee and salesman in Lyon and Paris. Commercial activities provide him with the opportunity to visit and understand society. In 1792, 20-year-old Fourier inherited his due inheritance and opened an independent shop in Lyon. The following year, the Girondins planned an anti-Jacobins rebellion. Soon after, the Jacobins captured Lyon and he was arrested. From then on, he went from being indifferent to revolution to denying revolution, and firmly advocated using improved means to transform society. Through hard self-study, Fu Liye accumulated rich knowledge of natural and social sciences. From the early 19th century, he successively published works such as "Harmony around the World","On the Four Movements", and "New World", exposing the evil of the capitalist system, calling capitalist society the "sink of evil" and "reversing the world", advocating replacing the capitalist system with the "harmonious system" he designed. His ideal "harmonious society" is composed of organized cooperatives, and its name is "Farangi." In his book, he describes in detail the wonderful lives of the members of Farangi. How to realize this ideal society? Fourier did not advocate the use of violence. He actually believed that capitalists or powerful figures would help realize his improvement plan. To this end, he published an advertisement saying that he would meet at home every day from 12 noon to 1 pm with rich people who had agreed to fund the founding of "Falangi". He waited for several years, but no rich man came to ask. In 1832, he and several disciples founded a "Falangi". But it soon proved that his ideals were unworkable. Although Fourier's plan to transform society failed, his utopian socialism theory, together with Saint-Simon and Owen's utopian socialism theory, provided valuable ideological materials for the birth of Marx's scientific communism theory and became one of the three sources of Marxism.
