On this day, 40 years ago, on February 26, 1985 (January 7, 1985, the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China "Report on the Absorption of a Large Number of Outstanding Intellectuals to the Party." On February 26, 1985, the General Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China forwarded the "Report on Admitting a Large Number of Outstanding Intellectuals to the Party" by the Organization Department of the Central Committee. The "Report" requires party committees at all levels to attach great importance to the low cultural and scientific level of party members and absorb into the party a large number of outstanding intellectuals who are determined to devote their lives to the cause of socialist modernization and communism. The "Report" believes that this is an important organizational measure to implement the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 12th CPC Central Committee and an important guarantee for strengthening party building and realizing the party's overall tasks in the new historical period; the focus of this work should be on outstanding young and middle-aged intellectuals.
