On September 26, Kim Jong-un, Secretary-General of the DPRK Labor Party and President of the State Committee, met with nuclear weapons research institute and other nuclear sector scientific and technological personnel and guided important agreements on nuclear materials and nuclear weapons production.
Earlier, the DPRK news agency on September 22, that General Secretary of the DPRK Labour Party and State Chairman Kim Jong-un said on September 21 that if the United States abandoned its attachment to North Korea's denuclearization and acknowledged the reality, and hoped to truly coexist peacefully with North Korea, there would be no reason for the DPRK not to communicate with the US side.
But Kim Jong-un said North Korea would never give up nuclear weapons, saying that while the new U.S. and South Korean governments are open to dialogue with North Korea and seek to improve relations, they will never change the nature of weakening North Korean forces and overthrowing the North Korean system.
Kim Jong-un said North Korea "will not sit face to face with South Korea or do anything together."
