On this day, 80 years ago, on February 19, 1945 (January 7, 1945 in the lunar calendar), 900 people were killed in the crocodile's belly in the crocodile cannibalism in Myanmar. On February 19, 1945, nearly a thousand Japanese troops invading Myanmar were besieged by British troops and hid in a bay swamp on Langley Island. At high tide at night, the Japanese army was about to migrate to dry land, when crocodiles several meters long burst out and pounce on the crowd from all directions, roaring, tearing and swallowing. The Japanese army was stuck in the mud, making it difficult to use its fists and feet, and even shooting could not scare off the crocodiles. The smell of blood attracted more crocodiles, and desperate screams resounded across the sky. At dawn the next day, there were no human voices. The mangroves were staggering, the tidal flats were bloody, heads and broken hands were everywhere, and the crocodiles were still eating. Except for 20 injured people who climbed onto land and survived their deaths, about 900 people died in the belly of the crocodile. This is the largest number of people eaten by animals in human history. There are 25 species of crocodiles in 8 genera. They are the largest animal among reptiles, with a maximum length of 10 meters and a weight of 1 ton. Its economic value is very high, and its crocodile skin is extremely precious, so it is overfished and its number is decreasing day by day. Today, it has been listed as a protected animal, and many countries have also established crocodile farms for artificial breeding, becoming a popular breeding department.
