On this day, 78 years ago, on January 12, 1947 (December 21, 1946, the lunar calendar), Liu Hulan died heroically. Liu Hulan was born in 1932 in Zhouxi Village, Yunshui, Shanxi. He joined the Communist Party of China in 1946 and served as secretary of the Village Women's Rescue Association and officer of the District Women's Rescue Association. On January 12, 1947, Yan Xishan's army raided Yunzhouxi Village, and Liu Hulan was arrested for betraying a traitor. In the end, he was brutally killed by the enemy with a guillotine.
