On April 14, 2007 (February 27, 2007 in the lunar calendar), the "Long March 3A" carrier rocket sent a Beidou navigation satellite into space. At 4:11 on April 14, 2007, my country successfully launched a Beidou navigation satellite into space using the "Long March 3A" carrier rocket at the Xichang Satellite Launch Center. About 14 minutes later, the star and arrow separated. Data from the Xi'an Satellite Monitoring and Control Center shows that the satellite has accurately entered the predetermined orbit. The person in charge of relevant departments introduced that the Beidou Navigation Satellite (COMPASS-M1) launched this time is a satellite under China's Beidou Navigation System (COMPASS) construction plan and flies in a mid-circular orbit at an altitude of 21500 kilometers. The successful launch of this satellite marks that my country's self-developed Beidou satellite navigation system has entered a new stage of development and construction. Satellite navigation systems have brought huge social and economic benefits to mankind. Currently, only a few countries in the world can independently develop and produce satellite navigation systems. my country successfully launched a Beidou navigation test satellite in Xichang on February 3, 2007. The satellite was accurately placed in orbit. At present, the satellite-ground test work is smooth. my country will successively launch a series of Beidou navigation satellites in the next few years. It plans to meet the needs of users in China and surrounding areas for satellite navigation systems around 2008, conduct system networking and testing, and gradually expand into a global satellite navigation system. This system will be mainly used for national economic construction and provide efficient navigation and positioning services for transportation, meteorology, oil, ocean, forestry, communications, public security and other departments and other special industries. The satellite launched this time and the "Long March 3A" carrier rocket used for launch were developed by China Academy of Space Technology and China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology, affiliated to China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, respectively. This is the 97th flight of the Long March series of launch vehicles. News raw data sources → https://www.abtool.cn/today_detail/1969.html 17WorldNews[2025.09.28-07:20] 访问:73
