Andrew Jackson (1767.3.15-1845.6.8) was the seventh president of the United States (March 4, 1829-March 3, 1837). The first governor of Florida, a war hero during the Battle of New Orleans, and one of the founders of the Democratic Party, was born in South Carolina on March 15, 1767. He was the first president of a civilian origin in American history. He studied law for about two years and became an outstanding young lawyer in Tennessee. He has served as a congressman, senator, state Supreme Court judge, and state militia major general. In the Second War against Britain, in 1815, he commanded the Battle of New Orleans and defeated the British army, inspiring the country and becoming a nationally famous hero. He failed in the first run for president and won the second time. He was the first Democratic president of the United States. During his term of office, he vigorously strengthened the powers of the president and safeguarded federal unity. He had great political achievements. It was called "democratic politics" in history and was almost as famous as the third President Jefferson.
