January 25, 1924. Three gold medal winner Norway Tarev Haug became a hero at the first Winter Olympics in Chamoni, France. Many other projects are monopolized by Scandinavians. Charlie Jetlaw won the 1500-meter speed skating race and brought home a gold medal for the United States. Some modern Olympic Games have included winter competitions, but this is the first time that the Winter Olympics have been held separately.
