In 1948, he jointly issued a statement with Liu Yazi and others in Hong Kong to respond to the May Day call of the Communist Party of China, and then arrived in the Northeast Jiefang District. In September 1949, he participated in the first plenary session of the China People's Political Consultative Conference and was elected as a member of the National Committee.
